Color

I was cleaning in my craft trailer and took a few pictures of some of my colorful collections.

I've collected dice for quite awhile, (just because I love color), I think I've reached the limit...lol. Marbles are fun too!! "The gals" are sporting a few blinged up belt buckles, (probably should be sporting some clothes too..lol..hadn't noticed 'til now).

Here's hoping you have a COLORFUL winter day!!

The Next Big Thing

I picked up a copy of the March 2012 issue of Country Living Magazine last evening.  I was thumbing through it and came upon the "Collecting" feature on page 45, picturing a collection of sock darners.  What a surprise to find that my "Instant Collection" I blogged about three posts ago is one of "the next big things"!!  Such a wild coincidence, I had to share.

Valentine Cheer

Awhile back I was at a garage sale that had lots of artificial flowers. They were $5.00 for all, so I bought them thinking they would look nice in the empty planters in front of my local post office. My postmaster gave me the ok, and I've been having fun decorating for each holiday ever since.

I thought I'd share a few pictures,(they're not the greatest quality, but you can get the idea).

There are three large planter barrels on one side of the entrance, and I've added an old wheelbarrow,(found at our disposal site), to the other side.

For Christmas I used scrap lumber to make some trees, and added a mail bag with letters to Santa from some of the local children. I also added a cute snowman that I repainted in "shabby" colors.

For Valentines Day I repainted the trees and added boquets in rusty containers. Sure adds some cheer to to the "winter browns" of our tiny town.

I hope your Valentines Day is FUN!

Instant Collection

I found three darning eggs, one after another, at different thrift stores in December. I remembered I had a couple put away in my craft space, so now I have a collection! I love how all the pretty wood looks together. My husband has been practicing wood turning lately and surprised me with two more, (they're the two on top in the second picture). The other white group includes one made of glass, another painted white with a tarnished silver handle, a "tie dyed" version (thats been chewed on) and even a "barbershop quartet guy look-a-like"! FUN (kind of instant) COLLECTION!!

P.S. My husband thinks the white glass egg might be a "dummy egg", used to persuade a hen to lay, no worries...it's been scrubbed..lol.
